Our Story
We are a collective of passionate hoteliers focused on having fun, creating an amazingly empowered hospitality team and assisting our hotel owners to maximize the value of their assets.
We started out in 2012 as Q Hospitality Management, a boutique hotel + restaurant consulting company focused on unique and distinctive independent hotels. With the addition of our hotel management division, The Q Hotel Group, we continue to grow and innovate.
We focus on the management of unique and distinctive, independent hotels between 50-150 rooms, but will entertain all projects below 50 rooms.
We look for independent hotels that fit our “authentic experience” focus, located in great destinations.
Until the summer of 2020 we managed the 114+-year-old Captain Whidbey, a historic small luxury hotel located on Whidbey Island, WA. The unique rebirth of this exciting property received great praise from Sunset Magazine to CondeNast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Portland Monthly, Vogue and the Today Show, to name a few.
Having launched our hotel management division in 2018 with the 100+ year old Captain Whidbey, on Whidbey Island in WA, we were set for growth and had several projects slated for potential management. When Covid hit and with the completion of our agreement at the Captain Whidbey, we made the decision to place our hotel management services on hold until this segment of the hospitality industry bounced back. Feeling more confident with this segment of hotels, and seeing the creativity behind some of the recent openings and the continued growth of what we call the “hip motel” segment and the “landscape hotel” segment, in January 2024 we made the decision to once again activate our management services for unique and distinctive, independent hotels.
On the consulting side of our business via Q Hospitality Management, we focus on providing this same segment of hotels with consulting + operational support. A sample of past projects under Q Hospitality Management include the opening of The Hotel Ballard, a small luxury hotel in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle & the re-opening of Semiahmoo Resort, an iconic PNW resort destination, amongst many others.

Our growth also includes a recent focus on the outdoor hospitality industry by supporting glamping destinations and high-end RV resorts via our parent company, Q Hospitality Management.
